Update Jan. - Feb 2020
Patience is a Fruit of the Spirit and we are trying to be full of it! Like so many in the DFW area that experienced damages last fall/winter, we are in negotiations with our insurance to ensure we are proceeding in the best interest of God and His people. Please continue to pray, for us as we navigate these waters and try to repair the damages.
We continue to work with our insurance and contractors to repair the water damaged areas. Repairs will not be completed for several weeks. Our Educational Building including the kitchen, fellowship hall, restrooms, hallways and some classrooms are closed until further notice. There will be NO Wednesday Night MEALS until after the New Year.
Due to the water damage sustained to the OGBC Fellowship Hall and Kitchen Areas, we are cancelling Beast Feast which was scheduled for 11/16.
Extra drying and dehumidifying equipment has been brought in and some additional minor demo has been done to pump dry air into the wall spaces. Flooring and baseboards have been removed from large portions of the containment zone. We are continuing to request everyone to please stay out of the containment zones until further notice.

FLOOD FUND SPECIAL OFFERING
Although insurance is covering the damages caused by the flood, we recognize that we will have additional expenses. Therefore, we will be taking up a Special Flood Fund Offering through the end of the year. If your family can afford any extra giving, no matter how great or small, it would be helpful so that we do not have to diminish the regular ministries of OGBC. Please label your offering to this as FLOOD FUND.
We are thankful for God’s mercies. It was “clean water!” Continued prayers are appreciated as this will not be a fast process.
Roughly half of the Education Building has been affected by the water. The Worship Center and Youth Room Wing have not been affected. The northern half (Kid Min side) was not affected either however, all the routes to get there have been.
Our insurance is working with us and we are using a Water Extraction Company that will have crews working at OGBC until we are all dry.
A plastic sheeting containment zone - beginning at the Pastor’s office door and the double glass Worship Center doors extends through the kitchen then across half of the fellowship hall to the Adult 2 classroom where there is additional plastic sheeting. Everything within this zone is being dried. It will take several days for the drying to be completed. We will not be able to begin repair until we are dry.
We are requesting everyone to stay out of the containment zone.
There is a great amount of equipment with cords and hoses, buckling flooring, as well as crews working. If you need something from that area please let Pastor know and we will have it retrieved.
We will make another update Saturday morning that will address changes that affect Sunday worship.
Please put Oak Grove on the top of your prayer lists today. Overnight a hose fitting ruptured in the main ladies restroom resulting in some serious flooding of all zones surrounding that room. We are currently working with our insurance and water extraction company to assess all the damages. Crews will be working to dry the building for the next several days, and then we will begin working on repairs. At this time we will still have all our scheduled services planned, however we may not be able to access areas past the Pastor’s office towards the Fellowship Hall. We will notify you with updates as they become available to us.
